POW Riders Alliance Header

Riders Alliance

At its core, Protect Our Winters is an athlete led community, within which athletes are a powerful leverage point. As a high profile athlete concerned about climate change, athletes can impact our entire community and industry with incredible effectiveness through education, activism and leading by example. Our priority is to provide them with a platform to do so.

The POW Riders Alliance is a community of professional athletes committed to environmental leadership.

With this platform, we aim to amplify each athlete’s environmental activism while serving to unite professional snow sports athletes under once voice.

We work closely with each athlete to support their own environmental initiatives, but also leverage the power of the Alliance to have one voice for media & PR, take collective policy actions, educate students and inspire and mobilize the winter sports community to fight climate change and protect our environment.  In 2011, Riders Alliance athletes met with over 7,000 high school students, wrote local and national newspaper op-eds and visited Washington, DC to defend the EPA and the Clean Air Act.
